Daragon Software has been in business since 1987. Prior to that our founders John Cluzel and Michael Guerra were both involved with divisions of large electronic manufacturing companies. Mr. Cluzel has extensive experience in the fields of Electronic and Chemical Engineering and has been credited with numerous patents. Mr. Guerra had been a Divisional Controller and has a B.S. in Accounting from Villanova University and an M.B.A. in Finance from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Together both have developed custom software and designed hardware systems for a vast range of clients.
We provide consulting services, custom software and systems support for a diverse group of businesses. Typically our clients have either a small or no in-house data processing staff. If they have some staff, we usually provide specialized services or focus on specific projects. Normally their "in-house" resources are just not enough to meet their needs. For those organizations with no staff, we act as a "part-time", "on-call" DP department performing a variety of tasks needed to run a successful computer operation for that particular company.
We specialize creating custom data base programs using MS SQL server or IBM DB2 server, using Microsoft.NET tools (Visual Basic or C#) and we can use older tools such as VB6 or C++6. We also have experience in writing custom video presentations in C++. Also we can develop websites which are database driven.
Our work is client-centered, not product line centered. We understand each client has their own distinct needs, which arise from the client's particular business operations, their business environment, their staffing, and their objectives. There is no single product or product family which is suited to all situations. Even in the same industry, companies are very distinct and this is often the basis of their quality and competitive strength. We work with our client in whatever way is mutually determined to be most effective in supporting the client's business plans.
Our offices are located in Paramus, New Jersey. The majority of our clients are located in the tri-state area, although we have done work for clients from Los Angeles, CA to Miami, FL.
Typical projects are in the 50-500 man-hour range, but we have done some much smaller "point" projects, and have some clients for whom we have provided thousands of man-hours of service over the years. Often we will get called initially for some sort of "fixup" or "cleanup", project , for example, a business system is not performing as it should to support the overall business operations. During the course of our work, we become familiar with the client's business priorities and operations, and build a strong, long-term working relationship. The client can then call on us whenever there is a need for follow-up or a new project.
